Brief on the organisation
Middlesex University is a UK university with campuses in London, Dubai, Mauritius and China. At the Mauritius Campus, we combine rigorous academic standards with a culturally enriching experience, setting graduates apart in the competitive international landscape. Middlesex’s future is built upon a foundation of excellence in practice-oriented education and impactful research and engagement. Our purpose is to create knowledge and put it into action to develop fairer, healthier, more prosperous and sustainable societies. Our students learn through activities and experiences by doing, making and analysing. They apply their knowledge and skills to real-world and work-based projects that benefit society, the professions and business. Learning this way, our students develop the skills, behaviours, attitudes, and confidence which employers want and need. Aligned with the UN SDGs, our research focuses on three integrated themes, namely: (1) Equity and improvements in health and wellbeing, (2) Sustainability of communities and the environment, and (3) Inclusive socioeconomic development and enriching lives through culture. The integrating themes give us purpose. They operate across our global network of campuses and stakeholders and work across Education, Research and Knowledge Exchange, and Engagement. As a vibrant research community, our campus embarks on research project, hosts research conferences, and produces internationally recognised outputs.
